- SynopsisDark comic fantasy. In northern Finland, an American company digs up a frozen block containing the original Santa Claus, a fearsome, horned, child-snatching beast. When the local reindeer population is found slaughtered, the farmers blame Russian wolves, and one widowed farmer digs a pit in his grounds as a trap. However, the next day he finds in the pit a naked old man, whom he takes for dead. Fearing arrest for creating the illegal pit, the farmer decides to saw the body up into pieces. But when the old man proves to be alive, and the farmer and his friends believe they have caught Santa Claus. They arrange to sell the old man to the American company boss, who explains that this is not Santa but an elf, dedicated to guarding Santa. The elves have kidnapped local children and tied them up in potato sacks, and have stolen all the local radiators, which they are using to defrost the block of ice Santa is still trapped in. The farmer sets dynamite to blow up the Santa, while his son lures the elves away and into an electrified reindeer pen. With the Santa destroyed, the elves cease to move, out of a job. The farmer and his friends train them to be nice to children and set up an export firm sending the Santas out across the world. (Synopsis)
