- SynopsisCrime action thriller with fantasy elements. Assorted criminals, underworld figures and corrupt politicians collide violently in grim Basin City, a place so rough and twisted that it has the nickname 'Sin City'. The denizens include Marv, a hulking ex-con, who seeks the killer of his one true love, Goldie, though he is aware that his medication may be making him imagine things; Hartigan, an older man with a failing heart, who risks his life in a bid to save an abducted girl called Nancy; and Dwight, new boyfriend of waitress Shellie, whose evil ex, known as Jackie Boy, refuses to take no for an answer, which leads to a bloody turf war involving the corrupt police and a neighbourhood run by a gang of gun-wielding prostitutes. Justice is largely meted out in unorthodox ways, albeit at great cost. (Synopsis)
- Work historyOnscreen title note: First it appears as 'Sin City', which then becomes 'Frank Miller's Sin City'. The possessive is not taken here as part of the title, but as a source credit. Writing note: Robert Rodriguez decided there should be no writing credit other than for Frank Miller's authorship of the graphic novel.
