- SynopsisNo main title. A man and a woman sit at a table in an elegant drawing room talking intimately. Her husband enters through curtains at the back of the set and, seeing them together, orders the suitor out of the room. The husband talks to his wife who stands with her arms folded looking smug. He sits, head on hands, in despair. She, unmoved, sits down and begins to read a magazine (20). A café. A woman and her suitor sit having a drink. A man who has been observing them hits the suitor, picks up a chair and hits him over the head with it. They fight vigorously. A waiter separates them and hustles them out of the café. The suitor returns, dusts himself down, pulls up a chair, and resumes his conversation with his lover (46). A woman enters dramatically through the drawing room curtains [same set as the opening scene]. A man follows, seizes her, tries to choke her, assaults her and finally throws her to the ground. He shoots her three times with a revolver and then shoots himself in the temple. He falls to the floor dead (68ft). [16mm]. Note. Originally each film had its own title and was registered as follows: The LOVER, The FIGHT and The MURDER AND SUICIDE. The picture quality of the NFTVA print in the café scene (The FIGHT), is very poor. (Shotlist)
