- SynopsisA story of Boadicea, Queen of the Iceni and the revolt she led against the Roman conquerors in A.D. 61. The titles are introduced by a shot of the statue of Boadicea on Westminster Bridge with a close up of the inscription. RL.1 Prasutagas, King of the Iceni lies ill. One of his tribes, Caradoc, has his grain seized by Roman soldiers, and his son Madoc is taken by the soldiers to the slave market when he tries to interfere. Emmelyn, the King's daughter is in love with Marcus, a Roman soldier. Caradoc arrives and tells Prasutagas what has occured. Boadicea swears that she will not rest until her people are free (167-1019 ft). RL.2 The Romans stop a Druid ceremony. Badwallon, a priest escapes back to the Iceni, arriving as the King dies. Boadicea assumes leadership of the tribe. Badwallon calls the tribe together in a glade to incite them to revolt. Marcus comes to the glade to meet Emmelyn. He is caught and is about to be killed as a spy, when Emmelyn confesses their love and his life is spared (2014 ft). RL.3 Decianus, the Roman Governor, receives a message from Rome asking for extra tithes to be collected, simultaneously he receives the news of Prasutagas's death. He decides to collect the tithes from Boadicea. Roman soldiers are sent to collect the dead King's treasure. Boadicea objects and strikes the Commander, he orders her to be flogged (3343 ft). RL.4a Boadicea is flogged and the treasure taken. Boadicea and her people vow vengeance on the Romans (4122 ft). RL.4b Revolt spreads, meanwhile the Governor entertains the envoy from Rome (4605 ft). RL.5 The Britons attack the city and after a long fight defeat the Romans. Marcus goes for help with Madoc in pursuit to prevent him (5488 ft). RL.6 He catches Marcus and they fight, but Marcus overcomes Madoc. He gets help and the Romans wait for the Britons in a valley. Boadicea decides to attack (6527 ft). RL.7 The Britons attack, but are defeated. Boadicea rides from the battlefield and she and her daughters drink poison. Marcus arrives and Emmelyn dies in his arms (7580 ft). The End (7583 ft).
