- SynopsisDrama. Word reaches the Crawley family, of the large English estate Downton Abbey, that the king and queen will pay a visit for one night during an upcoming tour of the north. The family and the servants find themselves with a great deal of preparation to do in order to make the royal visit a success, while some of them debate the value of monarchy, and even of the large estates like Downton. The servants in particular are disgruntled that they will not be waiting on the royals, who will bring their own staff, and a rivalry begins between the sets of servants. (Synopsis)
