- SynopsisIn Berlin in June 1940, working-class couple Otto and Anna Quangel discover that their only child has been killed fighting in World War II. Their profound sense of grief leads them to conduct a campaign of resistance against the Nazi regime that involves composing a series of anonymous postcards attacking Hitler's government and leaving them in public places around Berlin. Soon their campaign comes to the attention of Gestapo inspector Escherich and a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse begins that reinforces Otto and Anna’s sense of purpose and love for each other.
