- SynopsisThe 21st 'official' James Bond adventure. Bond makes his first two kills and becomes a '00' agent. In Madagascar, Bond chases a bomb-maker through a building site as the man makes for his embassy. Linking the man to terrorist Dimitrios, Bond chases a suicide-bomber at Miami airport. Bond's actions wreck the financial plans of Le Chiffre, private banker to the world's terrorists. Le Chiffre stages a high-stakes poker game at Casino Royale in Montenegro in a bid to recoup his losses. Bond is sent, accompanied by Treasury accountant Vesper Lynd, to beat Le Chiffre at the card table, in order to put him out of business. Attempts are made on Bond's life, and the trail of deceit and killing eventually leads Bond and Vesper to a showdown in Venice. (Synopsis)
