- SynopsisA compilation of five programmes in the schools television history series. Consists of two documentaries and three dramas which use reconstruction and research to provide pupils with an opportunity to: learn about the (fictional) Darby family, Quaker ironmakers; meet the English engineers and inventors George Stephenson, his son Robert, and Richard Trevithick; and explore the achievements of Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The individual programme titles are as follows: `The Iron Cradle' documentary; `Geordie Lads and Cornishmen' drama; `Horses on the Wagon Way' drama; `The Quaker Railway' drama; `Great Britons and Local Heroes' documentary.
