- SynopsisThe second programme in a five-part series. The first of three dramas on the Civil War, which opens in the aftermath of the Battle of Marston Moor (1644). The story involves a family who support the Parliamentary cause. Their farm, Westmoor Hall, supplies provisions and billeting for Parliamentary forces. A young Royalist soldier who has been injured in battle, takes refuge in a barn on the property and, despite their misgivings, is allowed by the women of the family to remain there, disguised as a visiting cousin. His long Cavalier locks are cut and he is allowed to write a letter that will be carried to his father. (Synopsis)
