- SynopsisThe changes in the East End are reflected in the Flint family. All long for a new freedom except Lil. Matt, her husband turns to busking and their son, Ricky agrees to buy his freedom with one night of crime organised by a former friend of Matt's. Jim, his son-in-law, agrees to provide his lorry. At the dogs Ricky meets Cat, the independent girl-friend of Charlie, one of the gang. Ricky's bomb site hide-out is their only place to go. Jim backs out and the raid misfires because Ricky fails to cosh a policeman. The lorry is found blazing and Ricky gets badly burned. Out of hospital, he fights Charlie in a pub. Next day he is bound over and the magistrate forces Cat to say they are engaged. But the bulldozers are demolishing their hide-out. (Synopsis)
