- SynopsisA series of mysterious deaths by drowning are linked to an insurance company run by Dr. Feodor Orloff. Diana Stuart, the daughter of one of the victims is found a job as a secretary at a home for the blind, where Orloff is a benefactor, but her suspicions are aroused when she finds one of her father's cufflinks in a cupboard at the home. Inspector Holt of Scotland Yard, who believes Orloff to be involved in the murders, works with Stuart in gathering evidence to implicate Orloff. She discovers that Orloff has been leading a double life by disguising himself as the blind Mr. Dearborn, manager of the home, and, with the help of a giant, disfigured inmate of the home, murdering policy holders for the insurance money and throwing their bodies into the River Thames from the home's attic.
